What to see & do

Central Croatia: your year-round holiday destination

Once you are here, there is a variety of things to do and experience. Save your relaxing and rejuvenating moments for evenings while enjoying our facilities, and save the days for extraordinary experiences.

You might have not heard of many things Gorski kotar area has to offer, and this might be the best part: not strongly marketised, each unique spot is never overcrowded so you might enjoy it to the fullest.

All seasons are suited for your active vacation, although our favorites are spring, with magnificence of greens in young wood, as well as autumn, with all shades of leaf changing color as a promise of constant move and change which leads us and takes us forward in perfect balance of nature. With GPS marked trails covering the entire area and surroundings, all you have to do is pick your favorite activity: be it hiking, biking, trekking or cross-country skiing.

Known for its nature beauties, Gorski kotar offers beautiful, must-see sights: Risnjak national park, Zeleni Vir and Vrazji Prolaz protected landscape, Vrelo cave, Kamacnik canyon, Golubinjak park forrest, Bijele i Samarske (White and Saddle) rocks which are strictly protected natural reserve, Kupa river and Lokve lake. Each is a perfect spot for a day trip into nature.

Maybe the most beautiful mountain hike and climb is on nearby White and Saddle Rocks in Mrkopalj area. On 1332 m /4370 ft elevation, White and Saddle Rocks are Strictly protected natural reserve, which is highest conservation status, even higher than national park. The area was unknown to scientists and explorers until 1899, and even after that date, its inaccessibility and absence of roads prevented frequent visiting and preserved the unusual natural blend of woods and strange carstic shapes. White and Saddle Rocks are open to public: good network of paths is established; and this is definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience wonders of nature.

Another not-to-miss hike & climb is to Risnjak national park, with 1528 m / 5013 ft peak. With its nature beauties, preserved flora and fauna, as well as ancient woods, Risnjak is highly commendable for a day trip.

Once here, visit lake Lokve. Situated in charming Fuzine vicinity and although artificial, lake Lokve perfectly blended in surrounding nature and is one of favorite tourist spots.

When in Lokve, don't miss Lokvarka cave discovered in 1911. and considered one of the most beautiful and unique cave in Croatia. Therefore it is classified natural monument. Another cave in close proximity is Vrelo in Fuzine. Although rather small, it is estimated to have been here for over 3.5 million years and is abundant with cave ornaments
