 Spring promise!

As if you all probably know, we are all used to snow… used in a way that we almost do not pay attention to it, as long as we can drive. And drive we can always. ¸

Yet I do remember, as the winter was coming to an end, my zest for gardening was growing. Still, the snow was stubbornly refusing to go away. Wearing my winter gear, instead of ordinary ‘Good day, how are you doing?’, I entered the local store saying:

- Look at all the snow out there? Will spring ever come?

And I was reassured with a promising smile:

-  It always does.

Not even a month after, the forest has enveloped me in all shades of green, as if to pride itself for the deciduous trees have bloomed… snow-whites, hellebores, daffodils showing off their newborn colors have made me happily expect this year’s wild strawberries. The meadow is reborn again, and occasionally, when all is really still and quiet, sitting at my verandah I watch fawns which, like, me, cherish the spring with childlike joy.

There are days when the truth, simple as this one, seems quite unbelievable… yet spring does always come, like a silent promise that everything we are longing for will be granted, in allotted time.
